Dicom Spotlight: Chad Hutchison

Dicom Solutions is proud to congratulate its CEO and founder, Chad Hutchison with the nomination for the 2013 Orange County Business Journal’s Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award. This award is designed to recognize individuals who exemplify the American entrepreneurial spirit through creativity and determination.

Born for the Spotlight

Chad’s talents were recognized even at a very young age. At age two, a local Indiana talent scout approached Chad to shoot ads for television, print, and magazines. By the time Chad was seven, he had appeared in over 100 television commercials.

At age ten, the National Touring Company offered Chad a leading role of playing Michael Darling, starring Cathy Rigby. After he accepted the offer, he then moved his family from his hometown in Indiana to the big city of Los Angeles.

Chad later attended San Diego State University. While he crunched for exams and attended class, Chad also started a few online businesses. His freshman year of college, he started College Photography. College Photography featured local San Diego State students in an annual swimsuit calendar. After a year, Chad sold the company to a national calendar company.

In 2003, a couple of business deals later and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science under his belt, he started Dicom Solutions Incorporated.

The Vision of Dicom Solutions

As the sole founder and CEO of Dicom Solutions, Chad Hutchison injects his vast experience and entrepreneurship from both of his previous businesses into Dicom. Chad initially started Dicom to serve medical offices with Chad has grown Dicom into an industry leader in medical imaging technology equipment for large hospitals and private practices.

Chad knew right away that the medical imaging industry has little to no online presence and saw an opportunity to grow Dicom into an industry leader. Utilizing his background in interactive marketing, he became the pioneer in the industry to offer medical imaging products online.

In 2009, Dicom Solutions ranked #109 in the Inc. 500 fastest growing U.S companies. In 2012, the company did just under $9 million in sales. 2013 projections are on track for nearly 14 million dollars in sales.

The Future of Dicom

While Amazon revolutionized the way we shop online and Google revalorized what we search for, Chad has done the same with the medical imaging industry. While most CEO’s in this industry are in their mid-50’s-60, Chad started Dicom at age 23.

Chad brings fresh vision, vitality, and energy to Dicom and the medical imaging industry. Using his innovative perspective, energy, and passion for the business, Chad is determined to make Dicom an industry leader as he steers it into the future.
